I'm Rachel! I recently graduated with a bachelor’s in Sociology from the University of New Hampshire. I graduated with a www.*** GPA. This upcoming spring I will be going back to University to earn a masters in elementary education. Additionally, I’m also certified in EFL through a 120 hour comprehensive course through myTEFL. I have been teaching ESL since July 2020, on an online platform to young students abroad. I absolutely love teaching and being able to support student’s educational journey. In addition to being an ESL instructor, I have also had many tutoring experiences. For three years I was a tutor/mentor in beginner level Spanish, reading, writing, study skills and elementary mathematics for an extracurricular program called Upward Bound.
I am happy to assist and support students, especially during recent circumstances and remote learning. In my tutoring experience I have always focused on a growth mindset as well as a flexible approach that allows students to find what works for them. Through my time tutoring and teaching I have worked with students with a wide variety of learning styles, and through exploring and educating them on their learning styles, we were able to better navigate what the best method was to help them succeed in the subject they were struggling with. I am easy to reach and my schedule is very open and flexible. I’m looking forward to helping students in anyway I can.

I am a recently retired US State Department Foreign Service Officer and US Naval War College professor. With a degree in Biology, I served as a Fisheries Extension Agent with the Peace Corps in French-speaking Africa before earning my MS in Agriculture, which included lots of Math for irrigation calculations. Worked for nearly a decade in West Africa, where I honed my French language abilities. When I joined the US Foreign Service as an Economic Officer in 1996, I scored a 3+/4 on the Foreign Service Institute French language test. I served for over 20 years as a reporting officer, writing hundreds of diplomatic cables on the subject of microeconomic and macroeconomic issues. I also oversaw (proofreading, editing, suggesting changes) the writing of hundreds more cable reports by supervisees. Some of these went up to the level of Secretary of State. As a final tour with the State Department, I earned my MA at the US Naval War College and taught in the Strategy and Policy Department for two years, teaching History and tutoring military officers to write long essays. I have always been a good test taker (scored 1300 on the SAT as a 14/15 year old) and am currently tutoring my own 13-year-old son for the upcoming SSAT. I am prepared to tutor either online or in-person, at a location of the student's choice. I am the married father of three children, ages 8, 11, and 13.

Lovely to meet you! I've been tutoring as a volunteer for a while, occasionally once every day of the week. I am flexible with times (it doesn't have to be an hour-long session) and I can likely tutor a subject not listed, just ask! I am also fairly flexible with my charging rates, I'm just looking to make a little extra dough alongside my volunteering. I am a junior in high school, maintain a www.*** GPA, and I specialize in other curriculums outside the core subjects, such as music theory and Spanish. I may be young, but please consider me! To amend any doubts you may have, the first session is completely free!

To Whom it May Concern:
I am interested in applying for an elementary-level teaching position in your school district. As a 2014 I have been working in education. I started as a paraprofessional in a one-on-once capacity with a student with Autism. After three years, and my student’s readiness to be on their own, I moved for a short time into the Life Skills program. At that time, I was going to be going into student teaching at the elementary level. So, this past fall (2017) I transferred schools to an elementary school as a classroom paraprofessional in second grade. I worked with a class in the paraprofessional capacity, finishing up my Masters courses. While I was working (September through December break) I was responsible for a small math intervention group as well as my classroom duties.
In January 2018 I began my student teaching. While there I implemented a new classroom management system (Classroom Dojo). I also immediately took over a math and reading intervention group.
I finished my student teaching experience April 20th, 2018. I will be graduating May 12th with my Masters of Elementary Education. I have had over 100 observational hours before I started my student teaching. These observations ranged from kindergarten through sixth grade. My certification has been issued by the state of New Hampshire.
I believe my teaching experience and passion learning and classroom engagement make me an ideal candidate to make a positive impression on your educational experience.

I base my lessons on teaching middle school students, preferably 6th or 7th graders, the basics of algebra and preparing them for future courses such as Algebra 1 and Geometry. I'm planning on teaching classes virtually, preferably on Zoom or Google Classroom. We'll meet around 15-20 times for the whole summer with 2-3 meets per week throughout this summer www.*** ; Each class will be 90 minutes long and students can contact me and schedule a 1:1 session if one is struggling or have any questions regarding the material that is being presented. This class will have homework for students as I believe homework is an effective way to practice and master the material. Before the course starts, it is required that each student and t should take a diagnostic test so I'll have a sense of each of my student's strengths and weaknesses. If there are any questions, feel free to contact me via email or message me. I hope to teach your kids soon!

Chinese Language and Culture Tutor
School, Learning Center
|
Hi! My name is Sophia. I am a college student, I have studied Mandarin for five years and passed the AP Chinese exam. I have lots of background on the best study tips for language learning and different tools for better fluency. As a non-native speaker, I understand the difficulties that many face when first starting a foreign language. But with determination and practice, any language is achievable, even if difficult! All you have to do is start.
I believe that all language learning must start with a strong amount of vocabulary. Beginning with the most commonly used words and tested on HSK assessments, students will learn vocab that will assist them with daily conversation and life. To make sure the vocab isn't forgotten, students will practice speaking, writing, and reading the characters. Memorizing how to write the character is not required, but recognizing it is. The first few sessions will revolve around basic aspects of Chinese language, such as the idea of radicals, tones, and pinyin. All teaching will have some connection to Chinese culture and language. Students will work at their own pace based on how well they do on simple vocab quizzes.
