I'm a passionate tutor of Spanish language. I'm currently working as a Spanish professor at St. Petersburg College and Florida Southern College. I offer Spanish classes at all levels and in different areas of expertise, and I’m also an experienced translator.
I hold a Doctorate Degree in Spanish Linguistics and Translation from the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain, with a CUM LAUDE distinction. I have been awarded two academic honors of “Golden Medal” in recognition of outstanding academic achievement with regards to my Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Spanish Philology.
Additionally, I have successfully completed various specialization courses and trainings in Spanish Language and Culture arranged by Spanishuniversities.
I have expertise in a variety of disciplines such as: Spanish Linguistics, Translation, Spanish Language and Culture, Latin-American Civilization and Spanish for specific purposes.
As a teacher, my philosophy is to provide students with a friendly and supportive atmosphere in order to help them boost their confidence in learning a new language. I feel that students can benefit from my first-hand experience of Spanish language and Hispanic culture. I am thoroughly familiar with the Spanish culture, since I lived in Spain for more than 4 years and during my stay in the multi-cultural Colegio Mayor Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe residence in Madrid, I’ve had the chance to acquire a vast knowledge of Spanish as well as Latin-American culture.
I am not the kind of teacher who believes in a single perfect teaching technique or is anchored to textbooks; I always struggle to find innovative ways that address the different needs of my students, spark their interests as well as stimulate their analytical and critical thinking skills.
My goal is to help my students to rise to their full potential, to transfer my passion and enthusiasm to them and to provide inspiration to fuel their pursuits.
So, if you are an elementary, middle, high school or university student trying to keep up with your classes, to raise your grades or to perform better on Spanish tests or an adult willing to become fluent in conversational Spanish, to learn Spanish for business, tourism or any other specific purpose, or to get acquainted with Spanish language and culture, we can devise a strategy that will fit your needs and wishes. If you want your child to become proficient in Spanish language, I will be happy to offer full immersion at home with fun and age-appropriate activities.
I will be glad to offer you an assessment session in order to understand your skills and needs and, thus, determine the strategy that will work best for you. I may also assist you with translation, editing and proofreading papers or documents for students or professionals.
I am available for tutoring every day at any hour, and I can travel to students or meet them online.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you in your journey toward a successful and rewarding career.

I was born in Uruguay and raised in Argentina before moving to the United States for college. While I was here, I tutored Spanish to a variety of learners varying from ages 5-70. I have taught over 100 students privately, have led over 10 small group classes, and have taught for the public school system for three www.*** ;I find languages to be fascinating. Each language is shaped and formed by its culture. The culture infiltrates its grammatical structure, pronunciation, and idiomatic expressions. I love discovering how each language represents the culture it was born in, how it evolved over time, or how it is currently changing in its sub-cultures. I have a love for my language and want to impart it to others who desire to learn it. I want your experience to be enjoyable and profitable. I want to encourage you in this process, to encourage you to go a little farther than you have before, and to help you understand and make sense of this beautiful language. What I love most about teaching this language is when I see students’ eyes light up because they have grasped a new concept and are naturally excited by this new understanding. I love watching my students be proud of the work that they have done and the ways in which they have improved. I hope to be able to provide a dynamic in which you can fully grasp the Spanish language.

Hello
My name is Fernanda
I am from Brazil, I am 28 years old.
I used to work as a teacher in Brazil from 2012 to 2017. In 2017 I decided to move to NYC to be an Au Pair. I stayed there with the same amazing family for the past 2 years.
In Brazil I used to be a teacher assistant for toddlers and Kindergarten.
Both my parents are also teachers, my dad is from Uruguay so I speak Spanish as well.
I have a degree in Pedagogy(special degree to teach and take care of kids), and I worked in the education field every since my first year in college.
The kids I used to babysit in Ny, were 3 and 6 yo.
I am very patience and calm with kids, I do not believe in time outs, I think that if something went worng and you talk to them and explain what happened, they can understand and we can work together to solve the problem in a better way next time.
I like to do arts and crafts, cooking, play board games, and spend time outdoors.

Featured Review: Great Tutor with extreme patience and creative thinking!! "Curtis is extremely patient and did an incredible job connecting with my daughters. He is very thorough and easy to work with and goes out of his way to be available when needed. He has a well-structured approach that considers their individual needs. He explains problems clearly, quickly identifying where help was needed most, and developed constructive strategies for success. They both really enjoy him and actually look forward to their SAT review sessions! We are very happy with our choice of a tutor!"

About Curtis E:
Within the first two weeks of his sophomore year at Phillips Academy, Andover, Curtis was one of the few students to pass out of the year-long Competence (in writing) requirement. He then continued to stand out in all the English classes meant for juniors and seniors, often receiving the only A+ in the section. Curtis caught the acting bug in college and graduated with a degree in Performance Studies from Northwestern University. Ultimately, however, he felt the pull towards the greatest show on Earth: education.
Apart from teaching and tutoring English standard and honors classes at Somerville High School for seven years, Curtis also teaches SAT and ACT Prep, MCAS, theatre, and public speaking. In his time there and with other organizations, test scores and rankings have skyrocketed.
As a tutor and teacher, Curtis works to student strengths while developing areas that need improvement; he is a firm believer that every student can learn. A literature analysis and writing stickler, he works hard to improve skills and ensure college readiness. Curtis' energy and sense of humor make his sessions popular- he portrays academics in a fun light, akin to what he calls the "mental and spiritual gym" where one learns how to learn while maintaining a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
When not working in education, Curtis continues to pursue acting and is currently penning two screenplays. He loves tennis, guitar, cooking, travel, and, most of all, making his wife and kids giggle.

Hello, there amazing fellow humans! My name is George E. I have over 15+ years of internationally combined experience in teaching Spanish. I also have experience in teaching in schools all other general subjects. I am confident I can help you and/or your child on your educational journey towards becoming fluent in Spanish. Here is more about my skills, experience and how I can help you.
NOTE: I am willing to Travel Further than a 10-mile radius if the tutoring is a 2-hr minimum. :)
I am bilingual in Spanish. I took 6 years of Advanced placed Spanish courses. I have been a translator for international groups. I have done translation work with the Peruvian government. I know the in's and out's and mechanics of the Spanish language and can teach it in a way that tailors to different learning styles (i. e. , if you're a visual learner, we can use more visual aids and etc.).
I also have previous experience as a journalist and am a published writer and have written for The Huffington Post for the last 5 years and also currently write with Elite Daily.
I am finishing my Master's Degree in Social & Cultural Theory from The University of Staffordshire. I have taught in primary and secondary schools (internationally), universities, and in online courses. I have also taught philosophy.
I am confident I can meet your needs.
I have worked with toddlers to adults, to students with special needs. I love what I do. Its imparting knowledge, a new perspective and inspiring others that makes this incredibly important to me.
So, how can I help you? I bring the 6-years of educational training. I was raised by a native Hispanic speaker. I have over 15 years of teaching and tutoring experience combined. I have been a translator for governments, community groups, and churches that travel to Hispanic speaking countries.
I teach to your learning style. Whether that be tactile, auditory, visual and/or a combination I am laid-back but use goals and benchmarks as a way to guide and encourage your Spanish speaking journey. Get in touch today!
