Hi there! I am a former scientist who happens to enjoy English and test preparation in addition to math and science. I have a bachelor's degree in chemistry and biology from Boston University, a PhD in biological chemistry from The Scripps Research Institute, and three years of postdoctoral experience at Harvard University in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology. The subjects in which I specialize include Test Preparation; Mathematics; General Chemistry; Organic Chemistry; English Writing, Grammar, and Literature; and Introductory Biology . As a tutor, I am patient and adept at identifying areas in which students may need extra help. My style is informal and approachable, and I relate extremely well to students ranging from elementary-school-age to working adults.
About me: I have worked as a part-time Professor of Chemistry at local colleges and universities; I tutor extensively in subjects ranging from science to English to test preparation; and I worked for many years as a scientist--performing experiments and communicating results through written and oral presentations to specialists and non specialists alike. Through these experiences, I have become expert at relating to students of all ages and educational backgrounds.

I worked as a Supplemental Instructor and Peer Tutor at Loyola University Chicago. I would reinforce class material and help develop long-lasting study skills. I also work at J at Chicago and help with after school care. I know what it is like to be a student struggling with a class or having to study for a class they hate. I have had an interest in science since I was 8 years old. I always read on recent research papers since high school. What makes me a good science tutor is the experience as both: a tutor and a student. As a student I know how to study for science topics and how to knit all the things we learn in this subject together. During my undergraduate, I was able to get an A on every science class and graduate as a Summa Cum Laude along with got great reviews from my tutees. I believe that each person has a different perspective and I tailor my tutoring technique to that perspective as well as add a newer one.

Hello! My name is Eric and I am a upcoming senior at University of California, Davis and am currently majoring in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior. Hello! My name is Emma and I am a MA candidate at Bryn Mawr College. I am in my second year of my doctorate degree program. I graduated from Cedar Crest College in 2018 with a bachelor's of science in biochemistry.
