Hello! I go by Toni. I am going into my third year of college. I commute from Reading, MA. I have recieved an MTEL in Writing as of MArch 2019. I have gotten a background check and CORI as of March 2018. I have 30 hours in total of teaching observation from Reading Memorial High School and Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational High School. I have understood and passed English Literature in areas such as Philosophy, Creative Writing, Academic Writing, British Literature, Grammar, Reading Broadly, Reading Closely, etc. I want to tutor because I believe all students should have the chance to understand the things they are learning and what better way to do that than having someone who went through the same course criteria help? I have read stories by Shakespeare and Jean-Paul Sartre. I have read short stories and poetry from The Norton Anthology of English Literature such as The Canterbury Tales and Beowulf. I have also read all kinds of books while in high school such as To Kill A Mockingbird and Streetcar Named Desire. I will be help to homework, reading notes, reviewing for tests, summer reading, essay writing and revision, studying, etc.

I base my lessons on teaching middle school students, preferably 6th or 7th graders, the basics of algebra and preparing them for future courses such as Algebra 1 and Geometry. I'm planning on teaching classes virtually, preferably on Zoom or Google Classroom. We'll meet around 15-20 times for the whole summer with 2-3 meets per week throughout this summer www.*** ; Each class will be 90 minutes long and students can contact me and schedule a 1:1 session if one is struggling or have any questions regarding the material that is being presented. This class will have homework for students as I believe homework is an effective way to practice and master the material. Before the course starts, it is required that each student and t should take a diagnostic test so I'll have a sense of each of my student's strengths and weaknesses. If there are any questions, feel free to contact me via email or message me. I hope to teach your kids soon!

I am Peruvian, 27 years old, currently in Massachusetts, studying English and equipping myself to start my Master of Business Administration (MBA) the next September 2018. I hold a Bachelor degree in Maritime Science and a title of Port and Maritime Administrator. Apart from my business approach, I have always been concerned about children. I have been able to be part of different groups in charge of providing care to children without shelter, giving them food, donating money, participating in voluntary work and teaching them English.
Since I was a kid I had the chance of having enriching experiences being a volunteer for help children in need, which help me to be more aware of their needs, the way they think and how to tutor them effectively.

I currently work as a special education teacher which I have been doing for the past 3 years. I was first hired at first as a substitute in 2016 and worked my way into a full time position the following year. Midway through the year, I took over for a teacher on an interim basis and it helped lead me to the full-time position I currently work in. I received my master’s degree in special education from Salem State in 2018 and during the past few years I thought about going back to school for an advanced degree at some point. I recently enrolled in Liberty University’s Online Doctorate in Education Program, so this is something I will be working towards in the upcoming years.
In my current position, I teach science classes in both the sub-separate and co-taught setting and I’ve also taught numerous different subjects over the past few years; including Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Discrete Math, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry. Although I currently teach science, I consider math to be my stronger subject and I also possess a middle school math license. I have enjoyed teaching different courses as it has broadened my knowledge of different subject areas and made me into a better teacher. I also have a passion for coaching sports; I coach baseball, football, and basketball at the high school level.
I have tutored students within the school the past few years and I have enjoyed the experience. As a tutor, I am patient and I always make sure the students work their way towards an answer, I never give them the answer until they work their way through it first. It’s important for students to know the answer to a question, but it’s more important for them to know how they got the answer to that question, especially in math which is what I have mostly tutored in the past. Thank you for taking the time to review my application and I hope you consider me for this position.

I have been a tutor and peer mentor throughout my time in high school. I was also a nationally ranked Speech and Debate competitor with exceptional grades and GPA. I graduated with honors. I acted as a coach to my speech and debate team and still coach them once in a while along with judging at tournaments. Furthermore, I was involved extensively in the theater department and in fact transcribed a book into a play that was put on by my high school. At my time at Northeastern I have interned for barbershop and was in charge of designing and writing content for their lifestyle blog. The company was called Mobile Cuts and I worked closely with the owner. In addition, this past semester I was working at Brigham and Women's Hospital in the dermatology department as a medical scribe. In the coming spring semester I will be focusing on pursuing my interest in film and will hopefully be an intern at Film Posse, one of the main production companies in Boston for historical documentaries.
I am patient, detail oriented, and organized. I can certainly give references from my past experience. In terms of travel, I am currently living in Roxbury on Columbus Ave which is on the Northeastern campus. I can travel by public transportation or do online sessions. I am flexible with my schedule and will put all my effort into improving the knowledge and skills of anyone I am tutoring.
While I have had a lot of success in school I certainly have struggled with procrastination, time management, and motivation when it comes to completing my school work. However, I had people around me that were able to encourage me and I was able to find the drive to pursue the best future possible for myself. I have always been determined to share the lessons I have learned with anyone who can benefit from them because while you can't live a child's life for them you can give them the right tools to be as successful as possible and be the best version of themselves.
I hope I can be the right fit for you.
Thank you,
Surina www.*** ;

I am a Boston based singer, focusing on Opera performance and teaching within the Boston Community. Currently, I am finishing up my Bachelors of Music degree at the New England Conservatory and will be graduating this May 2021. I have decided to teach online during the COVID-19 Pandemic to ensure my safety and students safety while learning the fundamentals of singing and music. I have a rich background in choral music, opera, musical theater, a cappella in addition to being involved with various drumlines and percusison ensembles. My motive as a teacher is to provide the core tools students need in order to develope their craft in a healthy, and beneficial manner. I want my students to find their voice and discover their passion through learning the essential fundamentals of classical music training, regardless if they decide to continue in that direction or not. With this said, I teach genres aside from classical, and have been in funk bands as well as contemporary church bands. I welcome anyone regardless race, gender, sexual orientation, religion and do not treat students differently according to those traits. I hope to begin teaching in person again once COVID gets under control and it is safe to do so. Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions: if you do you can contact me at ***@*** or through this platform.
***Note: If you can find me another student to work with I will give you a free www.*** ;

I have experience tutoring many subjects, but I most enjoy tutoring students in Accounting and Finance, and standardized test prep. I firmly believe in equal access to educational opportunities. To me, education is essential as it's directly correlated with an improved quality of life. As a tutor, I adapt my teaching to my students' learning styles and work hard to give them a personalized experience. I have a lot of experience as an educator. I provided peer tutoring to undergraduates in business classes, I taught French to children in Italy, and I have tutored my siblings in test preparation.

I am currently studying at the Longy School of Music and getting my undergraduate diploma in violin performance. I have studied the violin since I was 12 years old and have worked with many conductors, teachers, and colleagues over the course of my studies. I discovered I loved teaching when I was invited to teach at a summer program shortly after my high-school graduation, where I was designated as sectional teacher for 8th-12th grade violinists. I now volunteer for credit through my conservatory teaching young students after school.
My teaching style is encouraging and self-motivated. I am not a teacher who forces practice among students, but rather motivate students to establish their own practice routines. I do not have a specific pedagogy (Flesch, Russian School, etc.) as I did not learn a specific pedagogy. I take techniques and playing styles from many different pedagogues; I feel that this method of teaching is superior as it is flexible according to the student's needs. I also am available to teach music theory and help with the AP Music Theory exam.
I have learned how to teach under volunteer and paid opportunities shortly after graduating high-school. I was consistently placed in high chairs and leadership positions in both orchestra and band. Now I am evolving as a musician and learning how to teach, along with improving my own skills.
I began learning music theory in the 9th grade, and passed the AP Music Theory exam with a 5. At my conservatory, I often help those who are struggling with Harmony classes 1-5. I have completed all of my school requirements for Harmony 1-5 and am currently enrolled in Form and Analysis.
Whether you are a beginning adult, a student needing help with audition materials, or someone looking to pass the AP Music Theory exam, I am ready and excited to help. Please contact me with any questions you may have!
